Fellowships at the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte

In addition to guest scholars, numerous holders of fellowships and scholarships from Germany and abroad come to the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte for short research trips as well as for longer stays.  These include the fellows regularly appointed by several German states, the recipients of the emerging scholar awards, as well as the fellows of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. Since 2013 a cooperative agreement has existed with Princeton University, which regularly sends fellows to the ZI. Since 2016 a Panofsky professorship has been established, in addition to several new fellowships: Panofsky Fellowship, James Loeb Fellowship, Franz Roh Fellowship.

The institute offers fellows an excellent research environment with its library and photographic archive as well as numerous scholarly events, and also the possibility to take part in a collegial postgraduate program.
