James Loeb Fellowship

James Loeb Fellowship for the Classical Tradition in Art and Architecture at the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte, Munich, sponsored by the James Loeb Verein Hochried e.V. and the Harvard Club München e.V.

The Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte awards a James Loeb Fellowship for the Classical Tradition in Art and Architecture.

The fellowship commemorates the art collector and patron of research in the classical tradition in art and architecture James Loeb (1867 New York – 1933 München).

The fellowship is intended for doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars (who have graduated within the last five years) who are working on a project related to the classical tradition in art and architecture. Fellows are expected to be present at the ZI, to present the fellowship project, and to partake in the activities of the ZI.

The fellowship lasts three months.
